Welcome to our Passport to Cruising Alaska ~ Summer 2009!

You are invited to join fellow boaters for the cruising experience of a lifetime in beautiful Alaska next summer!

You will cruise aboard the 65-foot Malahide trawler, “Ursa Major.” The boat will cruise from Petersburg to Sitka or from Sitka to Petersburg in Southeast Alaska, depending on the week you choose.

There are only 2-3 double cabins available on each trip - one couple or two singles per cabin. This will truly be a memorable cruising experience that you will won't want to miss!   Availability is limited so reserve your cabin soon!

May 19-30: Sitka to Petersburg - 10 days (9 nights)
June 3-9: Petersburg to Sitka - 7 days (6 nights)
June 11-20: Sitka to Petersburg - 10 days
June 22-28: Petersburg to Sitka - 7 days
July 3-9: Sitka to Petersburg - 7 days
July 11-17: Petersburg to Sitka - 7 days
July 19-25: Sitka to Petersburg - 7 days
July 27-31: Petersburg to Petersburg -  5 days
Aug 11-17: Sitka to Petersburg - 7 days
Aug 19-25: Petersburg to Sitka - 7 days
Aug 27-Sep 2: Sitka to Ketchikan - 7 days
Sep 4-13: Ketchikan to Seattle - 10 days *special rate*

You’ll marvel at the natural beauty of Southeast Alaska at the height of the whale and bear season. You’ll dine on gourmet food from “Ursa’s” galley, including homemade bread, soups and desserts each day! “Ursa Major” has a full-time Captain, Crew and Cook on board. You can sit back and enjoy the scenery or navigate alongside the Captain in the pilothouse.

Dress for the weather – no ties or dinner dresses required! Average temperatures are 61° and 48°, with about 15-18 hours of daylight June through August!

Southeast Alaska is serviced by Alaska Airlines from Seattle. Travel arrangements to and from Alaska are up to you, but give us a call for some helpful hints!

ALASKA CRUISE SUMMARY

WHO: Cruise with the Captain & Crew of “Ursa Major” & fellow boaters. Vic and Barb Hansen will be along on some of the curises. (Dates to be determined)

WHEN: You will board at noon on the first day and return at noon on the last day. You may need to arrive in town the afternoon before boarding due to flight schedules. We can refer you to local hotels for overnight accommodations in town.


Whales: a common sight

WHERE: Southeast Alaska! Petersburg to Sitka or Sitka to Petersburg with a trip back to Seattle at the end of the summer.

WHAT: A nature cruise in Southeast Alaska aboard a 65-foot trawler yacht. Included in the cost: Yacht, Captain, Chef, all meals, fishing tackle, kayaks, fuel & dock fees.

COST: BOOK BEFORE SEPT. 1, 2008 AND YOU WILL PAY 2008 RATES: $3750 per person for 7 days and $4750 per person for 10 days. The 2009 rates will be approximately $500 more per person. (Gratuities for captain and crew and fishing license fees not included.) Airfare to and from Alaska is not included.) A 50% deposit is due at the time of your reservation. The balance is due 60 days prior to your cruise.

BREAKFAST: Coffee - Tea - Juice - Milk - Fresh fruit, Assorted Cereal - Bagels - Toast - Assorted Jams/Jellies/Condiments, Eggs Benedict & Eggs Florentine

LUNCH: Spring Garden Salad - Assorted Homemade Dressings, Old Fashioned Chicken & Dumplings, Fresh Baked Carrot Cake

APPETIZERS: Focaccia w/ Cold Smoked Salmon, Fresh Dill Cream Cheese and Salmon Caviar stuffed Grape Leaves - Greek Lemon Sauce

DINNER: Caesar Salad, Roast Prime Rib - Au Jus - Horseradish Sauce, Parslied New Potatoes - Broccoli with Holliandaise Sauce, Wines - Petit Syrah - Cabernet Sauvignon, Old-Fashioned Cherry Pie ala mode.

If you are interested in the option of bringing a larger group, other yachts are available for cruising in tandem with the “Ursa Major.” "Ursa Major" is fully equiped for fishing and kayaking. Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions you may have. We can even give you tips on sightseeing in other parts of Alaska if you want to extend your stay. Alaska is amazing!
